Girl power in Düsseldorf! While three men were nominated in 2008, only female designers were up for the award this year. |
The nominees for 2009 were:
- Lin Beeser, who has drawn attention to herself through side projects with an artistic edge,
- Esther Perbandt, who made a name for herself in Berlin a long time ago, and
- Frida Weyer, who in recent times has attracted attention not just for her professional qualities, but above all for her hobby of ‘collecting awards’. |

In the end the ‘Red Panther’ went to Frida Weyer. In the award speech, Dagmar Bily (Editor-in-Chief of ‘burda style’) said the jury’s decision was explained by the ‘feminine, innovative idea of the dress’. |
